Mother Hubbard's Cupboard is committed to being a reliable resource for the food insecure in the Wilmington area.

Mother Hubbard's Cupboard will be open every Wednesday and Saturday from noon - 3:00 pm with the exception of specific holidays. Please call 910-762-2199 to confirm operating hours if weather seems to be an issue or if a holiday falls on or near a Wednesday or Saturday; see FAQ page for holiday closings.

What We Do...

Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard serves those who are hungry in the Wilmington area through distribution of emergency food. This service is provided by volunteers in partnership with the community, without regard to race or religion and with care to preserve the dignity of the individuals being served.

Any needy individual or family may come to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard to receive a 3-5 day supply of groceries. People without stoves receive a smaller bag and are served weekly. Those requesting food are asked to self-declare their need.

As an all-volunteer organization, we are grateful for the support of groups and individuals in the community. View our wish list here. Donations of non-perishable food, money, and volunteer time are greatly appreciated.

Mother Hubbard's Cupboard is a tax-exempt organization under section 501 (c) (3) of the IRS code. Unless otherwise noted, the only goods and services provided are tangible charitable benefits.

Mother Hubbard's is a partner agency of both United Way of the Cape Fear Area and Food Bank of Central Eastern North Carolina.
